But this little tube of lip balm is like a hidden gem in the lip balm world, So I decided to invest ,
I say " invest" as at £12 for a 15ml tube it's quite pricey, especially when you can pick up a body shop lip balm for £3 . But what makes this lip balm so special is that it is 100 % natural ( not one of these products that promote natural & then has lots of hidden ingredients in!!!)
Dr lipp is famous for its thick & ultra hydrating properties & was originally used by midwives to sooth sore nipples of breast feeding mummies. It helps to soothe dry lips but can also be used on cuticles, feet , abrasions & extremely dry skin areas.
It's made from 100% ultra pure medical grade lanolin, in non scientific terms this is a product produced from the little fluffy sheep grazing in our great British countryside!!!
These sheep produce oils & waxes to protect their fleeces from harsh weather & this is what is found in Dr lipp .
Nothing else is added to these ingredients which make Dr lipp an odorless, tasteless & colorless yummy , gummy combination!
Now what makes this lip balm a Little gem is of course the fact it's 100% natural but also the fact that lanolin is so similar to our skins natural oils that the balm is very easily penetrated & absorbed into our skin.....it really is quite amazing!!!
The balm itself is thicker than I thought it would be & you seriously only need a tiny weeny bit of this balm on your lips. I have been using this balm for a good week on my lips now & I know it's going to sound like a cliche , as a lip balm is a lip balm .....but this really is THE lip balm!!!!!
I have also been using this balm on my eyebrows to tame the stray hairs, and as Dr lipp states you can
use the balm on your skin too, I haven't tried this yet & don't think I will. The consistency of the balm is very thick & oily & I don't think I could deal with that oiliness on my skin, but for my lips it's just perfect!!! I've been using Dr lipp under my lipstick , over my lipstick or as a gloss itself as the shine it produces is just so shiny!!!!!!
Do I recommend it , yes I certainly do...if it's good enough for midwives & top London makeup artists then it's good enough for me & it's slowly becoming a fast favourite of mine that will be finding its own spot in my handbag for some time to come!!!
Have you ever tried Dr lipp if you have what did you think & what have you used it for?
What is the beauty product that is becoming your fast favourite??
Xx
